DESIGNING DESIGN PROCESS

standard design process

factual fluke design process

FORMULA

Demonstrating the design process that will help you break the creative block and build an interesting personal domain of overlaps between different fields and subjects.

Branch out in different domains to create a more nuanced and holistic product. This process can also help include
various stakeholders to participate in the design process.

ANALYSIS

Theory 1 - Does this help in breaking the creative block?

Theory 2 - Can a non-designer/design student use this process?

Theory 3 - How fast can people collectively work together when                                       coming up with ideas out of context?

TRIAL RUNS

Three tests were conducted:
The first with a group of RISD students, the second with a medical student, and the last with myself.
*All of the tests were timed

OBSERVATIONS

1. When this process is used in a group, more people tend to participate as they        feel their ideas seem less judged.

              2.
It does help get rid of creative block to a certain extent, it can be pushed                    farther by focusing on what aspects can help in recontextualizing.

                        3. Non-rigid format works for both designers and non-designers.

FURTHER TESTING

Creating a more concise process that still has the substantial part of this process but lesser time is required
How to make this process more group friendly and give space to everyone to voice their thoughts?
Can people be assigned roles to complete the process faster?
How can this process be documented when used on a user focus group?
